Looking for some help identifying a glitch in a recording I made a couple of days ago in Studio One Pro.
A Soundcloud link is here https://soundcloud.com/lrsnz/mixdown/s-7Rsbp
The recording was three channels (2 mics on guitar and separate mic for vox). The glitch was on all three tracks and happened only once in about 45 minutes of recording. Just happened to be in the take I wanted to use. Go figure..
The setup is RME UFX via USB to late 2013 MacBook Pro. All channels were into separate pre's. The studio is all on the same power circuit and is not shared with anything else. There were video cameras being used in the session but they were all battery powered. The lighting power was taken by extension lead from a different circuit in the house. Oh and wifi was disabled and I have no anti virus on the computer but I am using a bluetooth mouse and keyboard.
I can't figure out what this was caused by, maybe power or maybe a USB problem but it is nothing I have encountered before.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
Graham

Once in 45 minutes is a very strange behavior..has this happened more than once? I have to assume that it has..What IOS are you on, some of the latest ones have had some very disturbing issues.. but then I'm not a 'current' mac user..so can't help a lot there but there are some articles in the knowledge base about these issues..
If your HD is 7200 RPM's or better that shouldn't be an issue.. but if it's 5400 RPM's it is possible that is causing a problem..
Something in the chain might have interrupted the stream..I know app nap was a problem.. but I assume you have disabled that?
You could also start a Tech Service ticket and see if they have any ideas?

No, it's never happened before. Also I have a SSD drive in the MBP so it's unlikely for that to be a problem. As far as I am aware I have changed all the settings so that it's powered up at all times but I will check that again.
Thanks.

Unfortunately stuff happens.
- Brown-out (neighbor firing up a compressor, AC unit, etc).
- Cat stepping on a cord.
- Phantom Power glitch.
Another similar thing is I'll be working in a certain section and 'hear' an audio glitch.
Then if I go outside the area (to another track or even the start or end) and then come back to that area, it's gone.
Now, if it happens every time you record, I'd be worried.
