Hi.
I recently bought komplete 9, I haven't recently used any of the other programs that komplete 9 comes with but Kontakt 5.
Now as I recall when I purchased the producer version of Studio one and when it was being downloaded there was as serial number related to komplete 9 or Native instruments ( I can hardly remember) Maybe I forgot to register a product with studio one?
Also. why won't kontakt 5 appear on the instruments section in studio one? I've seen other producers with the option there, however not in mine. do I have to purchase the professional version of studio one? And if that is not the case. How do I use Kontakt 5 with studio one?
Ps.
I am a beginner to music production, I am very talented in music and I am currently taking classes to improve my skills. while i'm doing that i decided to also start learning about DAW and music sampling.
thanks
David.

Don't confuse Komplete Essentials (cut-down version bundled with Studio One) with what you have, which is the full blown Komplete software suite.
IOW, you can ignore the Komplete Essentials from the install or your Presonus account (So no, you don't need that serial number).
As for getting Studio One to recognize Kontakt..
- Make sure you've installed the correct version of Komplete (32 or 64 bit) to match the version of Studio One you have installed (ie. 64-bit Kontakt with 64-bit Studio One).
- All of your VST instruments and effects must be put in a folder where Studio One can find it. On install, it typically asks you where your VST folder is. This is how Studio One knows where your virtual instruments/FX are located.
If the above instructions sound like gibberish to you, you need to stop and (at least) learn the basics of getting started in Studio One. There are plenty of tutorial videos provided by Presonus on their website.

Thanks for the information.
I checked the kontakt 5 and seems I have the x64 version, however I only have Studio one x32 version since is the producers version, now.. If I Upgrade to the Professional version of studio one. would that make all the library from my x64 kontakt 5 avaible into studio one?
I am currently looking and researching many topics that can help me use studio one properly.
thanks again
David.

Producer comes with separate 32 and 64 bit versions. If you download the 64 bit version of S1 from your account page, you should be able to use the Komplete 64 bit plugins. What Producer does not have is 64 bit audio engine processing---an entirely different issue and irrelevant to whether you can run your 64 bit plugins in S1.

Producer comes as 32-bit as well. Check your account - you just need to download and install that version.

Yes. thanks I checked and it seems that I do have producer 64 bit version. but kontakt 5 is running as x84 which i believe is the 32 version. will it still be audible with studio one? or would i have to download a version of kontakt 5 as x64 bit version?

Yeah, X86 means 32 bit and X64 means 64 bit. Your 32 bit plugins will run in 32 bit S1 and your 64 bit plugins will run in 64 bit S1. I am sure though, that Komplete comes with both 32 and 64 bit versions for each of it's plugins. You may want to do a search of your hard drive to locate them and then make sure that under the S1 Options-Locations tab, S1 is pointed to the folder where they are. If they are not on the drive, I would do an uninstall and reinstall of Komplete but read, watch and follow the installation process to see that the right boxes are checked off and you know where the plugins are being placed on your hard drive.

would you link me or direct me how do I use the plugins in order to use kontakt 5? It seems I have kontakt 5 in 64 bit however when I run studio one I cannot find kontakt there. Now you mentioned plugins. Is that the only way to use kontakt 5 in studio one?

When I say 'plugins' I'm referring to the vst versions of Kontakt, not the standalone version which you may be seeing as an icon on your desktop. SI reads the vst version. As a starting point, if you want to use 64 bit S1, look at your C Drive and see if there are any Kontakt 'dll' files under something called 'Program Files--Vstplugins', That is the default location for 64 bit vsts in Windows 7. (I'm not familiar with where that would be on a Mac). If they are there, you should open S1 and make sure that the Program Files-Vstplugins is selected as a location by S1 under the tab on top of S1, reading Studio One--Options--Locations-Vst Plugins. If not already selected as a location, add it in, check off 'reset blacklist' then hit 'apply'.Close and then re-open S1. Kontakt should now appear in the browser on the right hand side browser of S1, if you hit 'Instruments'. If it is there, you can drag and drop it onto a track.
If you want to use 32 bit S1, follow the same process, except the default folder (at least for Windows 7) is Program Files X86-Vstplugins, or in some instances, Program Files X86-Steinberg-Vstplugins.

thanks again for your information.
The other day I was browsing some native instrument forums and it appears that the files .nki that are basically made for kontakt are not compatible with studio one only .vst or .dll the problem is the only .dll files i have on my pc are the 32 version I can however, download studio one x32 version that will make those plugins compatible with studio one, however i wouldn't like to do that since i prefer to have the 64 version. as far as I know the .nki files CAN ACTUALLY be added to the samples location in studio one if you go to studio one then to options and then select files type. you can actually add the .nki files, But i think my studio one crashed last time or maybe you need to have kontakt open first i'm not sure yet myself I will still yet need to try this.
Now.. if none of this happen to work for me. is there a way to use kontakt 5 the player along with its .nki files to be played with kontakt then send them to a different channel in studio one so that way i could still play their samples and then record them in studio one?
thanks again.
David.

David, I think you've got a few different concepts a little confused here, so you may have to talk to a Presonus or Native Instruments rep.to walk you through it. I can assure you though that Kontakt and the various libraries that Kontakt can play are completely compatible with both Studio One Producer and Studio One Professional. I have it up and running, as do many others. Studio 1, however, needs to have Kontakt properly installed in order to properly read nki files. Let me see if I can clarify it a little more for you though.
Kontakt itself is kind of like the umbrella for the various Kontakt sound libraries that are played through it. So to use it in Studio One is kind of a two step process. First, you need to install Kontakt 5, and have Studio One pointed to and reading the dll files for it, as I described above. After that has been done properly, you should at least see the shell of the Kontakt interface when you drag Kontakt onto a track from the S1 browser. Step 2 is to then download and install the individual Kontakt sound libraries, and get them to appear within Kontakt itself. The easiest way to do this is to open up the Kontakt standalone on your desktop and see if the libraries have automatically appeared. in the browser on the left hand side under the 'Libraries' tab. If they have not automatically appeared, you should click on the 'Add a Library' button, which will allow you to click on the instrument's location on your hard drive. The nki files are ordinarily contained within these instrument libraries. Once you are seeing these libraries appear on the left hand side of the browser on your standalone Kontakt, they should also appear in the Kontakt you open within Studio One, assuming you have also carried out the first step properly.

Mar 29, 2017  I have Kontakt 5 and all.dll files are in the right folder, and Studio One is set to scan that location. Plugin still wont show up in Studio One still, even after resetting blacklist. Reinstalled Kontakt 5 and specified different folder C:/Program Files/Presonus/Studio One 3/ Plugins (this is default location when I ran Studio One for the. Kontakt 6 (or just Kontakt as it appears) was not showing up in my instrument list in Studio One 4 no matter what I tried. I found, at least for me, the solution to the problem. It was there, but for some reason on installation the plugin was hidden. So it was in fact there, just not showing up in my instrument list in Studio One. MacBook Pro 2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM & OS 10.9.5. Studio One Professional 3.5, Notion 5, 2x PreSonus Firestudio Project Interfaces, PreSonus ACP88, PreSonus Sceptre S6, FaderPort, Melodyne Editor 2.1.2, Waves Gold Bundle 9, Nomad Factory Integral Studio Pack, Native Instruments Kore 2 & Komplete 6 (Kontakt 5), IK Amplitube 3, AAS String Studio & Ultra-Analog VA2. Compare versions or build your own. Whether you’re a Grammy-winning producer or just getting started making music, there’s a version of Studio One ® that’s right for you. Studio One comes in three flavors: Artist, our flagship Professional version, and Prime, a fully functioning free version.

Studio One 4 Kontakt 64

  1. Important Note for Studio One Artist Users: 3rd party VST/AU/Rewire integration is not supported in Studio One Artist versions 3 or version 4, with the exception of the Studio Magic Bundle. You would need either Studio One 3/4 Professional or have purchased the AU/VST and Rewire Support add-on.
  2. Studio One Professional is the DAW that facilitates flow. It does this by preserving the good things from traditional studio equipment and workflows, and by turning everything else on its head. From its unique single-screen workflow with drag-and-drop functionality to its multitouch support, Studio One is a performance-ready idea machine.
  3. Studio One 4 Pro not recognizing Kontakt 6 dll. All other VSTs recognized from the same folder. How do I get Kontakt 5 to show up in Studio One 3 Artist? I have add on support installed. Can I use East West PLAY on Studio One 3 Pro? If so, how do I install it? How to get UAD Plugins to show up in Studio One 4.5.3 Pro? Kontakt does not send.
